So it at least seems to have some effect.Īm I doing something wrong? Any help is highly appreciated. Now with the latest update from Logitech, the problem is solved for 1.0. However, after a few weeks, I downgraded to 1.0 since I found there were some issues with 1.1b. What I can say though is that the "real" caps lock functionality does not get activated anymore with the option checked, unless I hit it twice in a row quickly. One of the reasons I upgraded to 1.1 b was this fix: Logitech Control Center Caps Lock notification no longer displays when moving in and out of virtual machine windows. I haven't figured out the steps to reproduce yet. It happens on different OS X versions, and different Windows versions. Or would pressing and releasing caps lock trigger some special "I am on Insert now" mode, so I could just hit another key like N? And then press and release caps lock again to deactivate the "special mode" again? Every now and then my Mac RDP program will suddenly turn on the CAPS LOCK on the connected Windows terminal. If not in VMWare, CAPS lock work without problem. Caps lock always turn on after switching from Windows 10 Virtual Machine to Host. It looks there was a similar issue with earlier versions of the software and NO resolution from VMWare. Would I need to keep holding caps lock while hitting (for instance) N (to show the NVDA menus) After upgrade CAPS Lock stopped to work in VMWare Workstation Pro for Windows 10 Pro.But this just does not seem to work - or do I do something wrong? So I tried to go the route of activating the NVDA option to use caps lock as modifier key, too. (Sadly, while VMware Fusion offers a feature to map certain keyboard combos to different ones, it does not allow to just change a single key's mapping.) By sending it that way, it wont update the leds on your keyboard and as a result, you are back in sync. This runs just fine, but it is quite a complex installation/configuration, and when asking clients to do the same, they are quickly overwhelmed. The way to resolve it when your caps lock gets out of sync is to use the send key option from the menu and select 'Caps Lock'. I use Karabiner-Elements to do just that: it maps my right option key to Insert. I do that since many years, and it's generally a very smooth experience, except that I need to map a keyboard key to Insert. I ahve seen much discussion of using Terminal to solve this, but I have little(no) familiarity with Terminal or Unix, so I'm a bit leery of doing so.I'm running NVDA inside a virtual machine on my macOS using VMware Fusion. commissary incycler dab rig craftworld mymeara nordictrack fusion cst pro vs. Designed for power users, developers and IT admins, Fusion Pro is the simply powerful desktop hypervisor for the modern technology professional looking to use local or remote virtual machines, containers or Kubernetes clusters. When I try to take ownership, it fails, then provides me with a Configuration file: /Users//Documents/Virtual Machines.localized/Windows XP Professional.vmwarevm/Windows XP Professional.vmx. After finding several documented cases of this, I went looking for the lock file, but it is not in my /Users//Documents/Virtual Machines folder. Once I did, it started up as per normal, but when I opened VMware to start my VM It told me the my Win XP Pro was locked. My Mac was unresponsive this morning (left it running all night) and so I held down the power button to restart it manually. I'm running VMware 2.0 on a MacBook Pro, and my VM is running Windows XP Pro. Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere, but I'm relatively new to the Mac and VMware, and my searching has proven fruitless, so I thought I'd try posting.
